Nearly 300 Fearrington volunteers provide transportation, handy person, nursing and other services. Call 542-6877 to request a service.

Drivers

When you are unable to drive, just call Fearrington Cares to schedule a ride or to provide a pick-up such as:

• Doctor or lawyer visits
• Prescription pickup and delivery
• Meal pickup and delivery
• Grocery shopping
• Bank deposits and check cashing
• Mail pickup
• Medical equipment
• Rides to events at Fearrington Village

Home Repairs

If you need minor home repairs, handy persons are available to provide assistance. They can fix leaky faucets, change hard-to-reach light bulbs, program garage door openers, and do similar kinds of small odd jobs.

Volunteer Nurses

Nurse volunteers provide medical support services to residents. They can monitor your blood pressure and provide other valuable services. (Please see Nursing Services)

Fearrington Friends

Fearrington Friends connects volunteers with anyone who desires regular contact from a “neighbor.” This contact could be as simple as a daily telephone call or a regular in-person visit. Friends can help by watering plants, sorting mail or going out for a stroll. Friends can also provide brief respite for caregivers. If you would like to have a Fearrington Friend contact you, call 542-6877.

Computer Help Group

If you need help setting up equipment, installing software, troubleshooting and more, Fearrington Cares has volunteers ready to assist you. Please call the office at 542 6877 and leave your name and phone number. Indicate whether you have a Mac or a PC and a brief description of your need.

All of these services are available at no cost to Fearrington residents. You are invited and encouraged to use them when needed.
