Why Volunteer?
At Fearrington Cares, our volunteers are our strength. You will find them delivering direct services, or behind the scenes supporting our organizational efforts. They drive you to the doctor, or your pet to the vet. Volunteer nurses take your blood pressure. Volunteer carpenters fix your screen door. Volunteer receptionists answer your calls or help you borrow the medical equipment you might need on a temporary basis.
Behind the scenes, you will find volunteers who do bookkeeping, data entry and other vital office work. Volunteers organize our events like the Independent Living Expo, plan new services and support groups, and arrange for medical lectures and seminars. Volunteers built our new database and website.
There are many benefits to becoming a Fearrington Cares volunteer. Volunteering can make you feel good. It can give you the opportunity to use your time and talent in a meaningful way. It can give you the chance to help your neighbors and meet new people. Volunteering can be a lot of fun. And, perhaps most importantly, you will be helping an organization that may some day help you.
